Summer 2020 Shoe Round-Up

In today’s post, I’m sharing a round-up of my summer shoes. 

To simplify my life, every season I create a shoe version of a wardrobe capsule (read my post on how to create a wardrobe capsule here). I put away the shoes I would typically wear during colder months, such as booties, boots, and darker colors and curate a shelf for shoes that I plan on wearing more often during the summer. This is also a perfect way to maintain an organized minimal space. 

As I mentioned in this “Switching the Gear Off Neutral” post, I’ve decided to limit the amount of neutral and nude shoes and add some color to my wardrobe. In that post, I also mentioned some of my past insecurities with bright colors and feeling like certain colors didn’t compliment my skin tone. Well, this highly melanated black girl is breaking that mold and abolishing those insecurities and wearing all the bright colors this summer. 

(Full disclosure: I might have a slight obsession with mules and square toe shoes. Don’t judge me, but I can’t help it.)
