First of all, If you’re anything like me, you hate mornings. With fall semester approaching, I appreciate any assistance I can get in the morning. You have probably seen Frank body coffee scrubs all over Instagram, twitter, and other social media. The coffee fiend in me was curious to see what all the hype was about.
when I saw the price tag ( $14) I lost all curiosity. Call me frugal, but there are things that I will pay any amount for ( like Italian food ) and there are things that are just not worth the money. Rather than buying it, I made my own. After cruising through Pinterest, I found several DIY recipes that are similar to the original product. I compared the recipes found online with the ingredients of the original body scrub and proceeded to make my own. After trying this recipe for the first time, the results left me amazed and I knew I had to share it with you all.
Ingredients
- Coconut oil ( unrefined )
- Raw Sugar
- Coffee Grounds
- Peppermint Oil
Directions
The directions are very simple, simply pour all the ingredients in a container and stir. Make sure that it’s a pasty consistency and not liquid. As far as measurements, add ingredients as you see fit.
Uses
Apply the scrub all over your body in circular motion to exfoliate the skin, rinse your skin and finish off with your usual shower gel or bar soap.
This body scrub was super easy to do and left my body feeling super soft. Adding the peppermint oil to the scrub gives it a minty feel, which provides an immediate boost. I Highly recommend using this scrub for a morning shower to get the extra morning boost of energy. If you prefer night showers ( I prefer both) try adding lavender oil in replacement of the peppermint oil for a more soothing feeling.
If you do try out this scrub, please let me know by tagging me on any social media platform and let me know if it was helpful.
