Although we can’t be outside to enjoy all the glorious things the spring season has to offer, it doesn’t mean we can’t slay from the couch, sis! Here are five different ways you can transition your winter wardrobe to spring. There’s no need to buy a whole new wardrobe, girl. Work with what you got.
Shed those layers
The biggest step to transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring is to shed some layers. It’s time to put away the heavy coats, the super thick sweaters, and the pantyhose.
Add a pop of color
This is one of the easiest ways you to elevate any look for the spring. Whether you are wearing an all-black look, adding a bold blazer or a bright pair of shoes can instantly take the look from dark and dull to bright and airy.
Pro Tip: Bold colors don’t have to be an “in your face” bright color. Light pastel tones like this with a blazer work well, too.
Wear over the knee boots or booties with colorful floral dresses
If you were about to put your boots away, don’t! You can still put them to use in the early months of spring.
When the temperature starts to rise but it’s still somewhat cool outside, pair your knee-high boots with maxi floral skirts or flowy dresses.
Pro Tip: This tip is totally dependent on the state you live in and what the temperature looks like in the spring. Living in South Florida, I can get away with wearing knee-high boots in the spring in the afternoon and evening, but during the day, not so much.
Pair knitted/chunky sweaters with bright colors and patterns
With the significant day-to-day weather changes in the spring, knitted sweaters are still very useful. You can pair them with light washed jeans, maxi skirts, and even midi skirts.
Pro Tip: If you really want to get cute, layer your sweater on top of a silk/satin dress for a chic effortless look.
Add colorful accessories
Bold and colorful accessories such as bright bold earrings, a floral headband, and a printed scarf can instantly elevate a look. The key is learning how to pull it off.
