5 Galentine’s Day Ideas You Should Try This Year

Some of the links in this post are affiliate links.

We are less than a week away from Galentine’s and Valentine’s day. I’m not big on Valentine’s day festivities, but after 2020, I’m celebrating every chance I get.

Being in a long-distance relationship, Valentine’s day looks different for me every year. But celebrating the holiday with my girlfriends has become a special and fun tradition for me.

In this post, I’m sharing 5 fun and COVID-friendly date ideas you can do with your gals this year.

Galentine’s day date ideas

  1. At Home Brunch

A few years ago, my college roommates and I decided to host a Galentine’s day brunch and it was amazing. We each contributed by cooking one dish. Well, I was in charge of decoration lol. We blasted music throughout our apartment, sang along to our favorite songs, shared stories, and laughed. This is a great idea, especially during the current pandemic.

  1. Bougie Picnic

The pandemic completely changed the way we view picnics. Picnics are the new brunch and you can actually have both.

Hosting a cute intimate picnic at a park or the beach is another great date idea for you and your gals.

This past summer, I wrote a full guide for hosting a brunch picnic

  1. Girls Night In

Yes, adult sleepovers exist! And they are much more fun because you can drink as much as you want.

You can start the night with a fancy dinner. Each person can bring or cook a dish. If you’re cheesy like me, you can all wear matching PJs and play games, watch movies, and indulge in some great conversations.

  1. At Home Sip & Paint

My friends and I took a cabin trip this past December and this was one of the activities I enjoyed the most. It’s a super affordable idea. You can gather supplies from the dollar store, find a painting tutorial online or have everyone paint whatever they want.

You can also find sellers on Etsy who sale kits for your at home sip and paint party.

  1. Send a Gift Basket

This final idea is for people who are unable to be with their friends this year. You can still make your friends feel special by sending a thoughtful gift basket. Schedule a zoom/facetime call and have a virtual Galentine’s day celebration.

Let me know what your plans are for this year. Are you celebrating with friends? Or not celebrating at all this year?
