It’s officially September! Autumn is my favorite time of the year and I’m ready for all things pumpkin spice and moody colors. I’m ready to change out my wardrobe capsule ( see my summer capsule here). As usual, I’m gearing up for the fall by checking out all my fashion sources for upcoming trends to mix into my neutral, casual wardrobe. In this post, I’m sharing 2020 fall trends I’m looking to incorporate into my wardrobe and where to find them for the low low. Many of these trends are not new. They come around almost every year, but designers have found ways to elevate them each year.
Trend 1 – Statement Cutouts
There’s something about a cutout in the right places that does something for me. The keyword is: right places. This trend was spotted during fashion week at shows like Khaite and Brandon Maxwell. Designers have found a way to add slits and holes into dresses and tops in a sophisticated fashion.

Trend 2 – Dramatic Sleeves
This trend that has taken over my wardrobe this past summer and it’s here to stay for yet another season.

Trend 3 – Color Leather
We associate fall/winter with warm tones, but designers are changed it up a bit this year and incorporated a lot of colorful leather on the runway.

Trend 4 – 80’s Prep School
Something about this trend has always been appealing to me. Maybe it’s because it reminds me of my Catholic school days. I love the femine, chic, yet edgy look of this trend.
