Over the short years of my life, I’ve come to find out that everything work better when it’s planned out ( at least for me). I can tell you when my weekends are unproductive, my entire week become unproductive , and I start feeling like my entire world is crushing down. Did I forget to mention I was a control freak? Like seriously If my day is not planned out, I fall into this acute depression. ITS BAD! I figured I might not be alone here & if you want your weeks to be more productive, doing these simple tasks might would most def work
– Do Laundry
I use to be that person that only do my laundry once a month, then I will get up for work one day & realize I don’t have clean uniform or clean underwear and fall into a mini panick attack. So to save my self the stress, I’ve made it a habit to do my laundry every Sunday.
– Clean
I know this sound weird, but cleaning my room is like therapy for me. I listen to some of my favorite podcasts & clean away. One thing I’ve been practicing lately is the art of getting rid of things. I’ve been going through this minimalist phase and the more things I get rid of, the more open my room feel and I feel more free.
– Pamper yourself
I like to give myself the whole spa treatments on Sunday; deep condition my hair, paint my toes, shave my legs, put on a face mask and the whole shebang.
– Check Emails
Truth is unless I’m waiting on a specific email, I don’t even glance at my email on the daily. On Sundays I like to read and respond to emails that need to be answered to and delete the thousand of junk mail I get from places like Chipotle, ebay, Sephora … You know! all those places that I should be avoiding.
– Plan for the week
This is the most important part of my sunday ritual, this part make or break my entire week. The first thing I do is write down any plans, bill or appointments that I have for that week. Then I use my Evernote app to write down my tasks for each day of the week including classes to attend at the gym. Within each day I plan my meals. Based on my meal plan, I go to the grocery store to get anything I might need for the week. Also I pre plan blog posts for the week along with filming days & post dates.
– Read/ Meditate
Although I try to meditate and read everyday. I specifically like set my mind at peace before I start my week. My current reads right now are “Why not me” by Mandy Kalling and “think and grow rich” by Napoleon Hill.
– Meal prep
I am not as consistent at meal prepping as I would like, but I’m able to control how I eat and what I eat when it’s all planned out. I search pinterest, instagram and magazines to find inspiration to make meal prepping less boring.
– Relax
I know all these tasks might sound like a lot. I promise you, you will feel so much more motivated and productive during the week. Since I’m a person that easily distracted, I can go from searching for a meal plan on pinterest to spending 5 hours on pinterest and next thing I know the day is over & nothing is done ( trust me it has happened). To avoid distractions I use the multitimer app, which allow me to set an alarm for each tasks so I’m able to fully complete my routine with leftover time to relax.
Let’s clear, I don’t always have time to do every single last one of these things, but these are definitely the items I strive for and give me the best return on my time investment.
