Some weeks my weekends are spent going to work and snuggling in bed catching up on Tv shows, while other weeks I spend my weekends kayaking, playing miniature golf, trying out new restaurants and other adventurous things. This weekend I got to have brunch with some amazing bloggers in the south florida area and I had a blast.

Last year my main focus was on my blog physical appearance and building my audience. This year I really wanted to focus on networking, meeting new people and growing my blog. I had no clue where to find people to network with, so when I came across BBU and found out the founder ( Thebudgetdivaa) lived less than an hour away from me, I know being part of BBU was the best place to start.

Less than a month ago I was featured on @Blackbloggersunited Instagram page and since then I’ve become a part of the team. A little back story, blackbloggersunited is a network for black bloggers and creatives that help bloggers connect with other black bloggers around the globe, learn useful information about blogging and get advice/learn from other bloggers. After I joined, I was invited to the BBU Facebook community where we talk to each other, ask for help and pretty much Unite.

This Sunday I attended my first networking event and had the opportunity to meet some of BBU florida bloggers behind the screen. We had brunch at ROK BRGR, which was the perfect location. The food was amazing, the staff and customer service was super and let’s not forget the non stop FREE mimosa we were served.

So I glad I was able to meet so many amazing bloggers and network, although this was my first BBU event, it definitely won’t be my last.
